Advisory
Board Member Responsibilities
To uphold the mission of the Action Pajaro Valley Advisory Board, members are asked to fulfill
the following responsibilities:
§
Representatives should attend all meetings. When unable to attend a designated alternate
should be sent.
§
Listen
actively to the ideas and opinions expressed by committee members and all
members of the community, engage in constructive discussion, and be open to
alternative solutions and points of view.
§
Review and
respond to technical planning information.
§
Represent
constituencies, acknowledging and drawing upon the diversity of opinions and
outlooks represented.
§
Inform
constituencies and other community members about the consensus building process
and provide updates on the progress of discussions. Members are expected to
check back with their respective organization or constituency and be
responsible for keeping them aware of on-going Action Pajaro Valley decision-making processes and timelines.
Significant comments and question
expressed by these constituencies will be communicated back to the Advisory
Board at their next regular meeting.
§
Be
committed to working toward consensus and cooperate with this process
to the fullest extent possible. A
successful conclusion depends on a good faith effort from all participants.
Ground
Rules
§
Free
discussion will be encouraged to allow all points of view to be
identified and explored, and in an effort to maximize the opportunity for consensus decision making.
§
Advisory Board members and members of the public are
requested to monitor themselves with
respect to the number and length of their contributions to the discussion.
§
All
information related to this project should be shared. Information to be distributed to Advisory
Board members should be given to Action
Pajaro Valley so it can be handed out at the Advisory Board meetings.
§
Agendas will
be published in accordance with established procedures. Estimated amounts of time allocated to each
discussion item will be provided as a guide for Advisory Board members.
§
To place items on
the agenda, Advisory Board members are asked to give their suggestions to
the Executive Director of Action Pajaro
Valley, Lisa Dobbins.
§
Speakers are asked to limit their comments to three minutes for each item. During the comment period at the end of the
meeting, the time limit is flexible.
