The ballot initiative known as Measure U was passed by voters in the City of Watsonville on November 5th 2002: Yes 60.3% No 39.7%

The "Watsonville Urban Limit Line and Development Timing" initiative allowed voters to amend the City of Watsonville General Plan. Action Pajaro Valley provided information on land use planning and quality of life issues to the general public prior to the vote.
