Member Responsibilities
To uphold the mission of the Action Pajaro Valley Advisory Board, members are asked to fulfill the following responsibilities:
- Representatives should attend all meetings. When unable to a designated alternate should be sent.
- Listen actively to the ideas and opinions expressed by committee members and all members of the community, engage in constructive discussion, and be open to alternative solutions and points of view.
- Review and respond to technical planning information.
- Represent constituencies, acknowledging and drawing upon the diversity of opinions and outlooks represented.
- Inform constituencies and other community members about the consensus building process and provide updates on the progress of discussions. Members are expected to check back with their respective organization or constituency and be responsible for keeping them aware of on-going Action Pajaro Valley decision-making processes and timelines. Significant comments and question expressed by these constituencies will be communicated back to the Advisory Board at their next regular meeting.
- Be committed to working toward consensus and cooperate with this process to the fullest extent possible. A successful conclusion back to the Advisory Board at their next regular meeting.
Ground Rules
- Free discussion will be encouraged to allow all points of view to be identified and explored, and in an effort to maximize the opportunity for consensus decision making.
- Advisory Board members and members of the public are requested to monitor themselves with respect to the number and length of their contributions to the discussion.
- All information related to this project should be shared. Information to be distributed to Advisory Board members should be given to Action Pajaro Valley so it can be handed out at the Advisory Board meetings.
- Agendas will be published in accordance with established procedures. Estimated amounts of time allocated to each discussion item will be provided as a guide for Advisory Board members.
- To place items on the agenda, Advisory Board members are asked to give their suggestions to the Executive Director of Action Pajaro Valley, Lisa Dobbins.
- Speakers are asked to limit their comments to three minutes for each item. During the comment period at the end of the meeting, the time limit is flexible.
Commitment Statement
We, the members of the Action Pajaro Valley Advisory Board are committed to a process of developing a growth management strategy for the Pajaro Valley. We support an ongoing collaborative process that includes the discussion and deliberation of possible strategies. I am signing the Agency/Organization Agreement Form as an officially designated representative of the group indicated. My signature does not imply that my group endorses any or all of the recommendations developed by the APV Advisory Board.
