Action Pajaro Valley is turning to the community to
help sustain our
momentum. We build connections between people who might
otherwise be on opposite sides of the fence on an issue.
As APV builds on its past success the Board of Directors
is now reaching out to individuals and organizations
committed to a future of our region that will include
farms, jobs, affordable housing and a clean environment.
You can support Action Pajaro Valley in several ways:
Historically, Action Pajaro Valley has received significant support from large private foundations. Still, our programs would not continue without donations from individuals and businesses who care about the Pajaro Valley.
As the programs and activities of Action Pajaro Valley have grown in complexity, support from our growing group of friends like you ensures the work of APV will continue. The challenges in the Pajaro Valley are substantial, but together we can make a difference.
Our vision is to be the recognized and trusted organization that inspires and facilitates a collaborative process among stakeholders for decision-making on issues affecting Pajaro Valley today and in the future. Achievement of this vision and its promise for an active, engaged, and vibrant community cannot come from just the few who have set the course for our collective impact in the community for the past six years.
To have the kind of community where future leaders are actively involved in shaping and building a consensus for our neighborhoods, schools, workplaces, parks and recreational facilities and overall quality of life requires the commitment of the entire community. Only in this way will Action Pajaro Valley fulfill its important community mission and achieve the vision that will continue to affect every resident and business owner who is part of our diverse and growing Valley.
In 2000, Action Pajaro Valley synthesized the results of its extensive community outreach effort that involved over 1,200 residents of the Valley. The result, The Vision Document, contains a broad, inclusive and diverse set of ideas and priorities designed to guide the Valley into the future. In order to describe the environmental, social and economic identity of this unique sub-watershed planning area within the Monterey Bay region, APV compiled data into a report titled Pajaro Valley At A Glance. It provides a basic foundation of information on the major trends and issues affecting the communities of the Valley.
"Years of fighting and disagreement between different groups within our community about the direction of the Valley's future have given way to a common vision and the determination to work together on solutions. This is an inspiration to all of us." Carlos Palacios, Watsonville City Manager and Co-Chair of APV
Let's join together to continue this story, so that it becomes a story we hear throughout our Valley for future generations to come.
